</ semester >

Three down, five to go.  It's bizarre to know now that I'm finished with this semester, mostly because I never really felt at any point that I had started it.  A few high notes:

Organic Chemistry
The single most stressful experience of my brief, adult life.  But you know, it was worth every single moment of panic for the sheer amount that I've learned.  I can synthesize a fair amount of compounds, and it's weirdly exciting.

Scientific Communication
You guys know how enamored I am with the concept.  This has been one of the most encouraging semesters for my writing. I've kept this blog, read more scientific journalism than I can possibly list, talked with several helpful people about pursuing my interest more seriously, and hopefully lined up a semester of study dedicated to science writing.  Next semester, I'll be applying for a position as a writing consultant. Needless to say, I'm excited.

The past few months have been a breathless marathon, but my endurance has increased tenfold because of it. I've only a few laps left with a paper about communism.
